The year 7s need to do them on something they are good at and they feel confidant doing.
And the year 8s need to do theirs on careers.
What i'm doing mine on is the African big 5.

As we are getting into summer we need to start bringing hats and water.
We do not won't to be sun burnt and dehydrated do we?

Every year we have athletics at Pukekohe intermediate.
These activity include Long Jump, (when the pit is full) High Jump, Sprints, Discus, And lastly Shotput.

Discriptive Writing

This is a example of my descriptive writing some was written by the author and the rest written by me. See what part of the text I started writing at.

Cold gripped the forest, fields, and moorland like an icy claw. Snow covered everything glittering faintly under a new moon.
Nothing broke the silence in the forest except for the occasional soft rush of snow sliding from the branches and the faint rasping of dried reeds when the wing swept through them.
Even the murmur of the river was stilled by the ice that stretched bank to bank.
I walked over the crackling ice then it broke the silence... The ice cracked into two big lots. I fell in the icy cold water. I felt a warm hand clamp onto my wrist. my tattered head burst out of the icy cold water. I was gaping desperately for air. The person that saved my life had blond streaked hair and a brave and bold personality. When we chatted away he kept mentioning he was the champ of everything and he rules. Well hes a bit weird if you ask me but anyway he saved my life.

Also after we had finished the descriptive writing we had someone comment on our work and this is what blair said.

Good imitation of me I am awesome but... IM NOT A BIT WEIRD!
BLAIR RULES!
Blair Morrow.

Touch Typing

This is my new touch typing test that I did at the middle of term 3
This is my old touch typing test that I did at the start of the year

(double click to enlarge)

I have had a huge improvement over two terms!
The difference is. In term 1 my rate per minute is
4 and in term 3 my rate per minute is 13!
In term 1 the number of characters I typed was 15
and in term 3 it is 44!
The number of mistakes in term 1 was a HUGE 52!
and in term 3 it was a weeny 14 mistakes!
My success rate in term 1 was 0% :(
But in term 3 it is 68%! :)

So I have improved a lot in typing throughout
the year thats why every class should have digital classes!

Desciptive Writing

Lately at school we have been doing descriptive writing. Also when we were at the library we had to either be a author, book, light, teacher or a student. Either one we chose we needed to write a story about.

A week or so later we also did another activity describing the perspectives of either a student, teacher, book, the lights or an author.

Here is how my descriptive story turned out:

I am a gross smelling dusty old thing. Nobody picks me. I get exited some times because people move me all the time. While that's happening I think they're going to read me and take me to their house but it always leads me to disappointment. I have never been chosen. I am all lonely by myself on the old scruffy shelf. Oh look! someone picked me up. Oh hes issuing me out. Oh finally the joy! Oh look it morning I must of drifted of. Hang on were am I? im in a toataly different place. Oh this is scary I never want to be issued out again. I remember what my friends told me now. "I wish i haven't got issued out like you its a nightmare!" I know now. I just can't wait to go back this is total torture. We have a horrible life don't you agree?

What perspective do you think I was writing about?

You Guessed it a book!

My Speech

Here is my Speech. It is on Why All Classrooms Should Be Digital

Do you like computers or technology? Of course you do, it’s what makes our everyday life fun and interesting. Just imagine if that was put into our six hours of school WOW that would be awesome. I’m here today to tell you a little bit about why I think all classrooms should digital.

Do you know that there is such thing as a class full of computers? Well there is, it’s called a digital classroom, but they’re not very common. Don’t get too excited because if there is a digital class in your school there’s only very little chance you will get in.

From experience of being in a digital class I know it is fun and educational. And it is good to have computer knowledge because things might just pop up in your life that you need the knowledge for.

There’s heaps of school work you can do on the computer, and its way better than old fashioned school things. For example math who likes lovely old bookwork? Not me of course! All you guys out there don’t like bookwork do you? So instead of doing all that boring stuff we go on the computer and play on Mathletics! It’s a really cool online website where you can change your character, V.S. your friends at math and do math’s activities for gold bars and certificates, not real gold bars of course! That’s how good old math can be fun on the computer.

When you go on the computer does your Mum say (get off) your eyes will pop out or your brain will rot? Well add up all the times you have been on the computer and that will add up to hundreds of hours and have your eyes popped out or has your brain rotted? No! It’s just a way for your parents to make you get off the computer and this has not been technically proven that any of this will happen to you so why not have digital classes. The computers will not do any damage to your body at all.

So what do you think, digital or non digital you know my opinion, I hope you agree with me that digital classes are fun, educational and exciting. But its up to you.

Hockey

I joint the oni puk team in hockey this year. I am really enjoying it. I do practices on Wednesday afternoons at the intermediate turf. We play our games at the high school turf on Saturdays for 50 minutes. 25 is half time. My position I play and enjoy is center ford. They normally score the most goals. HOCKEY RULES!!!!!

My book bag

We made book bags about one of our most favorite books. I did my book bag on a well known author to me called Adam Blade. Here is some stuff I rite on my book bag.
Plot summary- An evil wizard called Marvel has put a enchanted spell on all of the good beasts of Avantia to turn them evil.
The land they once protected they are now destroying. And Tom a young boy heads off on a journey to release Marvels spell with his Horse Storm and a young girl called Elenna and her pet wolf called Silver. Tom has a sword and a wooden shield and once he releases the beasts they give him a gift. For example Ferno the fire dragon gives him a dragon scale which he attaches to shield which protects him from rushing fire when he holds out his shield. Elenna has a bow and arrows and she is very good at using them. Its a great adventure all the way through the book. that a little of my book bag hoped you enjoyed it.
